About Geometry Arrow
Geometry Arrow is a one-button reflex game set inside a dark, dangerous cave. Your arrow moves forward by itself, and your only job is to steer it up and down past spikes and other hazards until you reach the portal that closes each level.
Hold to Climb, Let Go to Drop
On a computer you use either the left mouse button or the space bar. Keep it pressed and the arrow rises; release it and the arrow falls. That is the entire control scheme. A brief tap gets you over something small, while a longer press carries you above a tall barrier, so most of your practice goes into judging how long to hold.
Why the Soundtrack Is Worth Hearing
Each level has its own music, and the track does more than fill the silence. Obstacles are laid out in time with the beat, so a build-up in the song often warns you that something large is on the way. Playing with the sound on makes the harder stretches much easier to read.
Getting Through a Level With No Second Chances
A single crash sends you back to the start of the level, and each stage is tougher than the one before. The layouts do not change between attempts, which works in your favor. Use your first few tries simply to learn where the tight spots are. When corridors of spikes start demanding quick zig-zags, keep your presses short and even, because long panicked holds are what usually put you into the ceiling. If you keep failing at the same place, take a short break instead of rushing back with a tense hand.
