Math games turn practice into play. Instead of a worksheet, kids race a clock through the times tables, merge numbers into bigger ones, read analog clocks and solve quick arithmetic puzzles. Every math game on Yup7 is free, runs in the browser and needs no download or sign-up, so it works on a school Chromebook, a laptop at home or a tablet.
Multiplication and times tables games
Knowing the times tables by heart makes every later math topic easier, and short daily practice is the best way to get there. In Times Table Rush, made by Yup7, players pick the tables they are working on, from 1 to 12, then answer as many questions as they can in 60 seconds or practice at their own pace with no timer. The wrong answers are numbers kids really confuse, such as 48 and 56 for 7 × 8, and a "Practice my mistakes" button repeats only the questions that went wrong. For more speed, Math King and Math Test Challenge mix multiplication with the other operations.
Number puzzles and merge games
Some of the most popular math games hide the numbers inside a puzzle. Jelly Merge, another Yup7 original, drops cute numbered jellies into a box. When two of the same touch, they add up into a bigger one: 2 + 2 makes 4, 4 + 4 makes 8, and so on, so players practice doubling without noticing it. Math Merge and Sum Master are number puzzles that reward planning ahead, Pythagoras Mahjong pairs tiles that work out to the same value, and Math Crossword Puzzle fills a grid with equations instead of words.
Addition, subtraction and quick arithmetic
Fast mental math is a skill that grows with repetition. Elementary Arithmetic and Math Candies are gentle starting points for younger kids. Correct Math, Math Game Multiple Choice and Equations Right or Wrong show a problem and ask for the right answer, or whether the answer shown is true, before time runs out. Math Memory combines a memory game with simple sums.
Racing and running with math
Kids who would rather move than sit still can solve problems on the go. Math Runner mixes arithmetic with dodging obstacles, and Mathematics Racing makes your car faster with every correct answer. 2 Player Math turns practice into a friendly contest: race a friend to the right answer, or play alone against the computer.
Time, shapes and logic
Math is more than numbers. Clock Challenge shows an analog clock and asks for the correct time, which is great practice for second and third graders. Geometry Quiz covers shapes and their properties, Lofys - Numbers helps the youngest players with counting and number shapes, and RiddleMath and Sinal Game are quick-thinking arithmetic puzzles for kids who like a challenge.

- Grades 3 and 4: Times Table Rush, Math King and Math Runner for multiplication and faster mental math.
- Grade 5 and up: Pythagoras Mahjong, Math Crossword Puzzle, Sum Master and RiddleMath for multi-step thinking.
Using math games in the classroom and at home
Short rounds work best. Five to ten minutes of a math game makes a good warm-up at the start of a lesson, a reward for early finishers or a brain break between subjects. Teachers can put a game like Times Table Rush on the projector and let teams take turns, while at home a daily round of the same game helps facts stick. Because the games keep score, kids can try to beat yesterday's result, which is often more motivating than a grade.
