About Times Table Rush
Times Table Rush is a free multiplication game that makes times tables practice feel like a game. A question such as 7 × 8 appears on the screen, four jelly buttons offer possible answers, and you pick the right one as fast as you can. Correct answers build a streak, fill a jar with cute jellies and raise your score, while mistakes show the right answer straight away so you learn from them.
Pick your tables and your pace
Before each round you choose which tables to practice, from 1 to 12, or tap All Tables to mix them all. That makes the game useful at every stage: a second grader can start with the 2s, 5s and 10s, and an older student can focus on the tricky 7s, 8s and 12s. Your choice is remembered for next time.
Then pick a mode. Rush gives you 60 seconds to answer as many questions as you can, with a combo bonus for every five correct answers in a row. Practice has no timer and asks 20 questions, which is better while the facts are still new.
Answers that make you think
The wrong answers in Times Table Rush are not random. For 7 × 8 you might see 48, 54, 56 and 63: the neighbors in the same table and the next table, which are exactly the numbers kids mix up. That means you cannot win by guessing, and every correct answer is real practice. Questions also appear both ways round, so 3 × 7 and 7 × 3 both come up, which shows that the order does not change the answer.
Practice your mistakes
At the end of a round you see your score, how many answers were correct, your accuracy and your best streak. Every question you missed is listed with its answer, and the Practice my mistakes button starts a short round with only those questions. A few minutes of this each day is one of the quickest ways to learn the times tables for good.
How to play
- Mouse or touch: click or tap the answer you think is right.
- Keyboard: press 1, 2, 3 or 4 to choose an answer, Enter to play again and Escape to go back to the menu.
- The sound button in the corner turns the sound effects on or off.
Tips for a higher score
- Start in Practice mode with two or three tables, then move to Rush once you feel quick.
- Keep your streak going: from five correct answers in a row, every answer is worth more points.
- Learn the patterns: anything times 10 ends in 0, the 9s add up to 9, and doubling the 2s gives you the 4s.
