About Battleship
Battleship is a free version of the classic strategy game where two fleets hunt each other across a hidden grid. You place your ships where the enemy cannot see them, then take turns calling out grid coordinates to find and sink the other side's ships. The first player to sink the whole enemy fleet wins. It is a mix of strategy, memory and a little bit of luck.
Set Up Your Fleet
Every game of Battleship starts with placing your ships on your grid. Ships can go horizontally or vertically, but never diagonally. Where you hide them matters, since a fleet that is easy to guess is easy to sink.
Call Your Shots
Players take turns choosing a square on the enemy grid, like B5. A hit means part of a ship is on that square. A miss means the water there is empty. Your tracking grid keeps a record of every hit and miss, so you always know which squares you have already tried.
Sink the Whole Fleet
A ship sinks once every square it covers has been hit. The game continues until one side has lost all of its ships. Thinking about how ships are shaped helps a lot: after a hit, the rest of that ship must be in a straight line next to it.
Tips for Better Guesses
Spread your first shots across the grid instead of firing in one corner. After a hit, try the squares above, below and to each side until you find the direction of the ship. When hiding your own fleet, avoid putting ships right next to each other.

Sea Battle Questions
Can ships be placed diagonally?

How do I win?
Sink every ship in the enemy fleet before they sink yours.
What does the tracking grid do?
It marks your hits and misses so you do not fire at the same square twice.
