Yatzy

Yatzy is a free version of the classic dice game. You roll the dice, choose which scoring combination to use and try to finish with a higher score than your opponent. If you have played Yacht or Yahtzee before, you will feel right at home. It is a game of skill and chance: the dice decide what you get, but you decide how to use it.

Roll and Choose

Each turn you roll the dice and look at what came up. Then you pick a combination on the score card to fill. Every box can only be used once, so part of the fun is deciding whether to take a small score now or save the box for a better roll later.

Skill Meets Luck

Luck decides the numbers, but good choices win games. Knowing which combinations are worth the most, and when to give up on one, is what separates a good player from a lucky one.

Beat Your Opponent

At the end, the scores are added up and the highest total wins. Every game is different, so you can play again and again and never get the same result twice.

Scoring Tips

Go for the big combinations early, while you still have plenty of boxes left to fill. If a roll does not fit anything well, use it on the box that costs you the least. Keep an eye on your opponent's score card so you know how much you need to catch up.
